but do we know where to find it?
Yes we do. We find the truth in the scripture. The problem is, in order to
sort the truth from 2000 years of corrupt text and compounded translation
errors, we have to get back to the basics.

Herein we find the problem and the solution.

The truth lies somewhere in the gray, between multiple copies and variant
readings of the ancient text, to the multiplicity of  modern Bibles. Of  these
modern translations and transliterations, some tragic, some laughable, a
great deal of license has been taken to impose man's ideology. Such
moral opinion is based on the political and moral environment of the times.
In my opinion of course, this is not what God had in mind .

Many people are steered away from scriptural truths. When people ask
questions of their Priest or Pastor that are difficult to answer, or for some
reason they do not want to answer clearly and succinctly, they evade the
question by either quoting scripture out of context, or telling us that "it is
God's will and that we must have faith". Another response is that "Satan
is working among us".

The fact of the matter is that most clergy people, especially if they have
completed their seminary work do know the answers to most of the
questions that are asked. Unfortunately some of the answers although
scripturally correct and truthful may at times clash with some of the
denominational dogma and doctrine being practiced and preached.
This is not to say in any way that these clergy are not sincere, but
rather that they are caught up in the politics of their respective
denominations.

God left us a legacy of  truths that are everlasting. He came himself
embodied in the son to reestablish these truths.

At risk of doing one of the things I hate the most, that is telling the great
lie and by association of quote, having God buy into it, I will quote
chapter and verse from the King James. I do this only because it follows
very closely most of the early textual readings of Matthew prior to and
after 400 AD and has remained consistent through modern times.

Jesus (in the Greek  Iesous to mean "his help" from the Hebrew
Yeshu'a,  meaning he who saves or savior) made this statement in
Matthew  5: 17,18.

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am
not come to destroy, but to fulfill."
"For verily (truly, truly) I say unto you, till Heaven and Earth pass, one
Jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

The statement "till all be fulfilled" refers to both the law and the prophesies.

Jesus refers to first five books of the Old Testament in the Hebrew as the
law and then the books of the prophets that they be fulfilled. We know this
because of what he uses as references in his statement. "Not one Jot or
one tittle" are the references which denotes his meaning.  Jot meaning
intent, and tittle referring to the taagin or little horn like marks placed just
above certain Hebrew characters in the Holy Writings. In no way will he
change the intent of the law or it's meaning, nor will he alter the events
that have been prophesied.

Next let's see what Jesus meant  when he said "Thou art Peter, and upon
this rock I will build my Church." Many believe that because Peter was
often referred to as the cornerstone of the twelve disciples, and in fact
was more often than not their spokesperson, Jesus used him to carry
on the ministry. If this is so then why are all of the modern Christian
churches patterned after the Pauline, rather than the Petrine Doctrine.

Could it be, maybe Jesus had something els in mind.

Scripture tells us that Christ is eternally the Head of his church. This
makes Christ himself  the foundation of his church. Why then would
he give this responsibility over to Peter?

If we revisit the Greek text, re-parse and retranslate Matthew 16.18;
of the Stephen's 1550 text along with Elsevir 1624 text we find that the
reading is slightly different  than we are used to. Comparing this text
with some fragments of  much older text primarily for writing style,
this reading presents itself as, "and I also to you say, that you are Peter,
and on this rock I will establish my assembly".

in order to get the clear meaning we have to go back two verses,
(paraphrasing)  verse 16;  "and answering Simon Peter said you are the
Christ". Vv. 17;  "and answering  Jesus said to him, blessed are you,
Simon Bar Jonas. For flesh and blood revealed it not to you, but my
father who is in heaven. Then Vv. 18. Jesus is reaffirming Peter's name
and telling him where he (Christ) will establish his Church.

Still more to come.
